

the owner of the château of
Lacapelle-Cabanac restored a building invaded by waste land and
converted this outbuilding into a winery. During the restoration work
he discovered a structure of arched stones, the upper part is covered
with fine channels. These were the vestiges of the winery dating from
the 18th century. On the top part, the grapes were trodden and the
juice flowed out by the channels into hogsheads which were placed on
the floor. More than 200 years later château Lacapelle Cabanac has just
returned to its wine-growing vocation.Nowadays the vineyard awaits full
grape maturity before harvesting. The wines produced are the fruit of
the excellent soil type.
We were seduced by this
exceptionnel Estate. Our ambitions being simple , to create the wine of
our dreams, to satisfy our clients desires and palates and to respect
the environment and Nature.
We started by renovating and modernising our winery an its working
methods. The winery once renovated to the highest standards was then
equiped with smaller wine vats so that we could vinify the harvest from
each parcel of land seperately.
We have since 2001 converted our farming methods from traditional too
Organic, our vineyard is mechanically laboured and weeded. Only copper
and sulpher are used to control disease and then only at a quatre of
the dose recommended
Our first AB (Organic Farming) vintage was
born.
Our dreams were becoming reality with the vines flourishing and our
wines being acknowledged and appreciated by our clients both private
and professional. Our adventure continues..!
